| Job Description: |
- Perform and implement all custom clearance activities such as following up for coming Shipment, documents transactions and day-to-day related activities in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures.
- Look after Custom Clearance of import shipments by Air / Sea.
- Following up with concerned parties to ensure arrangement of complete set of documents for customs clearance of contractual and non-contractual shipments and requesting / processing of duty demands in advance to eliminate additional storage / costs and delays resulting in timely clearance.
- Ensure process compliance with Customs regulations.
- Coordinating with the Clearing Agents and prepare supporting documents required for clearance such as B/Gs, shipping guarantees requisitions and ensure on time submittal and follow up for immediate clearance.
- Examining invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations.
- Coordinating with Finance Team informing them of the expenses occurred against Customs Clearance for each particular purchase order enabling them to adjust the CAPEX amount on timely basis.
- Preparing periodic reports with respect to Custom Clearance activities and achievements.
- Ensure that all of inbound shipments are cleared within the given grace period offered by sea or air ports, in order to avoid penalty payments.
- Performing other duties related to the job as assigned by the Line manager.
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of Government standardized regulations and procedures regarding imports, shipping and customs clearance
- Must be able to deal effectively with customs and relevant government officials.
- Must be able to organize work to track actions and ensure proper and timely delivery of paperwork.
