| Job Description: |
Technomics international is a boutique strategy and policy consulting firm seeking to engage a Senior Research Associate based in ISLAMABAD focusing in one or more of the following areas:
a) Public Policy Benchmarking, Analysis, and Design
b) Measurement and Evaluation and Impact Assessment
c) Economic, Market, and Industry Research
d) ICT for Development and Innovation for Development
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE SHALL work closely with a Senior Researcher(s) / Team Leader in delivering quality outputs, client engagement, designing, conducting/directly supervising field research activities including workshops, focus group discussions and quantitative surveys, carrying out background research and assist in producing reports and documents.
The Research Associate / Assistant shall be responsible for carrying out primary and secondary research (particularly desk research, but also some interviews and focus groups), fact-checking and validation, and research coordination. The position shall also require writing proposals to local and international donors.
Position is based in Islamabad. |

The Candidate:
The ideal person shall be someone with a Bachelors or Masters degree in business and management, social sciences, science, or engineering and with an interest in science, technology, and society themes, science policy, science education, or philosophy of science
Someone with a four year Bachelors degree with 2-3 years of experience or a Masters degree with at least one year of relevant experience will be preferred.
Prior experience of working in a research / publishing outfit will be an asset but not compulsory. However, prior record of writing for non-technical audiences including self-publishing (such as blogs, etc.) will be be a must.
Excellent communications ability including both written and spoken English
Excellent project management and coordination skills are a must
Ability to work with quantitative data (including, finding, analysing, and presenting such data) as well as knowledge of GIS data tools will be additional asset.
A quick learner with the right attitude to contribute and learn from an exciting initiative.
Working as a part of a small team of professionals will require resourcefulness, teamwork, a can-do attitude, and flexibility to take on different roles. |
