Job Title: Full Stack Javascript Developer

Client: Our Client is an NYC based startup in the Edtech space, working on a web application to improve Computer Science learning in the classroom.

Job Purpose: To design, develop, maintain and grow our Client’s app for the Web, and to work with all key stakeholders and implement their feedback in order to create the best user experience for the Client’s customers. This position will form part of our Client’s core mdevelopment team. The developer will work directly with the client to implement the entire lifecycle of the app for the web platform. To function as part of the Client’s team, and to help the Client achieve their goals.

Working relationships:

Client’s existing team - Technical and Business Founders, Designers, Operations

Duties & Responsibilities

Design, Develop and Maintain the Web Platform for our client

To develop the backend for our Client’s mobile app

Working closely with other developers on the team to ensure a seamless experience

across all platforms

Working closely with designers to achieve the best experience design

Working with the Founding team of the Client to implement their vision for the app

To ensure timely achievement of development goals

Enforce and improve software development best practices

To recommend new features and ideas that may be implemented in the apps

To test and deploy the web app

Required Skills and Experience

 Strong development experience on the entire MERN (Mongo/Express/React/Node)

stack and a strong JavaScript understanding

Experience with AWS

Strong sense of UX principles

Familiarity with the use of Web development and deployment tools

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Familiarity with leading cloud platforms

Strong communication skills

Strong Familiarity with Git

Experience with web service integration (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML) on server and client side

Experience with Redux

Strong understanding of html5, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX

To set up and monitor cloud server for the application

Knowledge of deployment of MERN applications on cloud based services like AWS

Additional Desirable Skills

Experience with Sphere Engine

Familiarity with other popular Javascript Frameworks and libraries (example ReactJS,

KnockoutJS etc.)

Familiarity with CI/CD tools/platforms such as Docker, Jenkins, Codeship etc
