Key Responsibilities:

• Store Facility Maintenance:

  • Oversee daily maintenance of store equipment (e.g., air conditioning, refrigeration units, escalators, lighting).
  • Conduct regular inspections of the store facility and identify areas requiring repairs or preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure all safety and security equipment (e.g., fire alarms, sprinklers) is functional and up to code.

• Preventive Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize breakdowns and disruptions in store operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues within the store in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the store’s HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting systems are operating efficiently.

• Team Supervision & Coordination:

  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team, assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion of repairs.
  • Collaborate with the store management team to ensure minimal downtime during repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance staff.

• Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety checks and implement corrective actions to mitigate any potential risks within the store.
  • Maintain documentation of safety inspections, equipment servicing, and repairs for audit purposes.

• Vendor Management & Budgeting:

  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and procurement of parts.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions for repairs and replacements.
  • Keep inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials, ensuring timely procurement as needed.

• Emergency Response:

  • Respond promptly to any emergency maintenance issues, including power outages, equipment breakdowns, or facility damage.
  • Be on-call to handle urgent issues outside of regular working hours when necessary.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably within a retail or commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems used in retail stores.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Experience in leading and managing maintenance teams.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to retail environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a retail or supermarket setting.
• Certification in maintenance or facility management.
• Familiarity with retail refrigeration systems and store equipment maintenance.
