Job Description: |
Proposed Scope of Work for 04 School
1. Site Assessment, Design, and Planning
Assess existing school infrastructure for repair or reconstruction needs.
Develop detailed architectural and infrastructure plans, including classrooms, WASH facilities, furniture layouts, play zones, and energy systems.
Ensure designs are child-friendly, safe, climate-resilient, and include solar-powered utilities.
2. Construction and Facilities Development
Rehabilitate or construct classrooms, gender-sensitive toilets, and handwashing
Install solar-powered water systems, electrical wiring, and furniture suited for children and teachers.
Promote green areas with landscaping and trees.
3. Documentation, Visualization, and Costing
Create 3D visualizations and walkthroughs of the proposed school environment.
Prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BoQs) with cost estimates.
Emphasize the use of locally sourced, sustainable, and easily maintainable materials.
3.1 School Building Rehabilitation and Upgradation
Structural assessment of existing school buildings.
Repair or reconstruction of damaged components (walls, roofs, floors, doors, windows).
Construction of additional classrooms, if required.
Repair and painting of classroom interiors and exteriors.
Electrical works, wiring, LED lights, ceiling fans, power outlets.
Flooring with non-slip ceramic tiles or cement screed.
Ventilation improvements, windows, ventilators, air bricks.
Provision of classroom furniture (teacher tables, benches, chairs, cabinets).
Blackboards/whiteboards and teaching aids installation.
3.2 WASH Facilities
Construction of separate toilets for boys and girls (2 units minimum per gender).
Installation of handwashing stations with multiple taps and soap holders.
Development of solar-powered water supply system (borewell + solar pump + storage tank).
Elevated RCC water storage tank with piping to toilets and handwashing areas.
Drainage and soak pit system for wastewater management.
Water filtration/treatment unit (where required).
3.3 Child-Friendly Environment
Construction of a children’s play area, swings, slides, see-saws, monkey bars, merry-go-round, etc.
Development of a walking track (cement or interlock tiles) surrounding the school yard.
Landscaping and development of a plantation/green area (shade trees, flower beds, grass, kitchen garden demo).
Installation of boundary wall and secure entrance gate (if missing or damaged)

Borehole, casing, submersible/solar pump, solar panels, tank, GI/HDPE pipe, fittings
III. Toilet Units
Superstructure, internal fittings (WC, basin), plumbing, septic tank, soak pit
IV. Electrical Works
Cabling, lighting fixtures, switches, fans, and solar panels for classrooms/toilets
V. Furniture
Classroom tables, chairs, benches, cupboards, blackboards/whiteboards
VI. Play Area Equipment
Swings, slides, jungle gym, merry-go-rounds, safety flooring
VII. Walking Track & Landscaping
Track construction (material, edging), soil improvement, plantation, fencing
VIII. Miscellaneous
Signboards, boundary wall (if required), gates, fire extinguishers, first aid boxes
